Add a "library" of files that the model can look into for extra context

Each profile would have its a limited amount of slots for files that models can retrieve on-demand.

For example, I have a profile for job search and often have to upload my CV into every thread when I wanna have an LLM write me cover letters. Would be nicer if the LLMs could simply retrieve my CV from a stash of files that I give it access to.

    Attachment mangement

I have a bunch of attachments that I have to recall in different chats, every new chat I create I have to “upload” them again.

As you already have all the attachments saved on “https://t3.chat/settings/attachments”, I think it would be useful to mirror it into an “Attachments library” on the main interface where I can favorite and select what attachments (That I already uploaded to the site) I want to include on the context window of the selected chat.

If you add the option to manage the “active attachments” in a given chat it could be very useful.

    examples:

    - Removing an attachment that was previously uploaded
    - Replacing an attachment for an updated version (instead of having to insert a duplicate)
    - Just selecting already uploaded attachments…

It would help a lot on my academic and copywriting workflow

PS: By removing, replacing and selecting I mean to include/exclude it from the context window of the chat that is opened.

I would also suggest that attachments have a reference to the chat they were used, or vice-versa.

This way we could easily navigate to the chats that attachment was used. It would also make it easier to track which attachments are no longer linked to any chat and are safe to delete. Along with that you would, when deleting an attachment you would be aware of what chats will be impacted and would also be nice to be able to delete these chats as well.

    File Referencing with "@"

I sometimeneed to reference the same file across multiple chats or within a single chat over time, currently requiring repeated uploads.

Solution: Implement an "@" referencing system for uploaded files, similar to file referencing in code editors like Zed.

    How it could work:

    1. Type "@" in the chat input

    2. A popover appears, showing:

      • Files previously uploaded in the current chat

      • Recently uploaded files (from any chat)

      • A search bar to search all files

    3. Users can:

      • Continue typing after "@" to filter the suggested files

      • Use the search bar to filter files

      • Select a file from the popover using their mouse or keyboard

    4. Upon selection, the content of the referenced file is sent to the LLM as if it were directly uploaded, eliminating the need for re-uploading.

I got the idea from Zed Editor, but I think Cursor, Claude Code and many others have a similiar feature. I sometimes work with a seminar paper on different topcis/views and would appreciate it
