I have no idea how they expect people to find this without a guided tour.

Much needed. I had a fairly good idea how many messages I have left with the token based system, but now it’s much more difficult to gauge how close to the limit I’m getting.
I’m not sure if I’d like to take more room in the sidebar, but maybe it could be implemented in the popup that shows when you click on the profile photo in the bottom left corner. There could be a small bar under my name and the “Pro” tag.

Please replace %, $, $$ and $$$ with something tangible. Does each prompt have a point cost? Does the % go down with by value equal to tokens*model or just prompts*model? Why not show real points rather than %?
Aquamarine Cookie
I assume it’s based on context length, tokens generated and model type, so I assume it isn’t something you can put a clear number on

This is correct. The $$$ indicators are there to give a visual estimate/comparison of “this model is more/less expensive”.
> Does the % go down with by value equal to tokens*model or just prompts*model
tokens * model cost

very reasonable model imo, sure there is some lost accuracy with only having 3 tiers, but this feels more intuitive and comparable in day-to-day usage (for me at least) compared to having random numbers next to the models (although maybe there could be some kind of more detailed “cost index” on hover or something, idk)
A usage budget indicator on the main page would be very welcome though, I really need to have a way of seeing if I’m eating up my overage budget and should stop with random unimportant chats or switch to a cheaper model, I switch to settings a lot at the moment, which does get annoying over time

I just used up all my prepaid balance while the usage limit shows a proud 100% remaining in the settings. No warning that I’ve gone through my 4 hour limit either. :(

This one is definitely a render issue. I just checked your account ad it is definitely at 0 available balance.

it says 99% but I can no longer use it

Would be amazing if both the 4-hour bucket and overage bucket meters could be shown separately. I think that would make way more sense. Okay if this is a stats for nerds only kind of thing.

Id love to be able to see the usage meter here in the sidebar.
Seems like there is space for a bar to go in the middle here so I can glance at it when making a new chat etc intead of having to go into setting to check.
Another Idea for how to display it here is to make the border around the image act as the usage remaining and then have some sort of hover effect which enlarges it and shows a tooltip or something would be cool?

To clarify: just seeing the cost in some arbitrary usage unit after the fact in the statistics for nerds would help!

I haven’t used the site for a few weeks, showing up now its very unclear what the new mode of usage/cost is. I think there needs to be some onboard info presented to the user when you make these types of changes.
I have no idea what the usage amount is, it seems very arbitrary?
It’s very easy to exhaust limits even in the Pro plan. I have gone into this state multiple times in a week, where I can’t use the tool simply because the usage got finished in 20 min. Need more clarity on this

For most users, the system allows much higher usage. If you use expensive models like Gemini Pro, Opus or GPT 5.2, have long threads, perform many web searches, or attach many files, your usage depletes faster. That’s because of the actual raw cost to us.
Reviewing your usage, it seems on average your messages have been costing us around 10-50 cents each in threads with Gemini Pro. Your most recent message was over 50 cents. In total, your usage has cost us over $5 already in just the last few days.
As a one time grace, we have reset your limits for the month. Check out our FAQ for more info on how our usage limits work and tips to reduce usage.
