Weird scroll glitch when sending new long message

as you can see in the screen recording, sometimes when sending new long messages, the window scrolls down and cuts the sent message even if there is enough room to fit both the message and the response, I think this is because of this weird min height calc hack:

I know it’s there to fix some other thing related to only show the last message and its response when a message is sent, I think that should be done otherwise, could be wrong though but it’s a minor bug nonetheless.

    This is intentional, as we want to give the response space to fill in and make the assumption that you remember the message you just sent. We don’t know how long the response might be, so we always start in the same place. When you refresh the page, the extra space shoudl also be gone.

      Okay, I understand that this behavior is hard to avoid due to technical details, but it would be better if you scroll only after the response comes in and you find out it's long. This is still a UX glitch, one that is hard to avoid.

        Only scrolling after the response comes in would be an even worse experience, as you would not see the response until it finished.

        Autoscrolling then stopping when we reach the top of the screen would also be bad because of the massive amount of layout shift making it hard to read the response.

        We believe that the solution we came to is the best compromise, but will continue to experiment to see if there is a better option.
