Very long chats "lock up" when scrolling up

Surprised to see this on t3 chat, since the reason I enjoy it is that it seems to try hard to not break on long chats, but recently (maybe now that there's a bigger tier), I've found that scrolling backwards through long history can cause the chat to “freeze up”, I end up needing to reload the web page. This doesn't seem to be an issue of it “loading in the background” but rather being completely frozen - but this is Android so I haven't confirmed that. Some ui feedback might be able to indicate what it's doing, at the moment it's “scroll up for a while, then the chat history is blank, then the entire interface is unresponsive”
