UX Improvement Request: Search Button Hover State Ambiguity

Feature Request

When hovering over the Search button, the hover color remains the same whether Search grounding is enabled or disabled. Currently, the only distinction is the tooltip, but since tooltips appear with a delay, it can be confusing to immediately know the current state.


It would be nice to have a slightly different hover color (or other visual indicator) depending on whether Search grounding is enabled or disabled, so the state is clear without waiting for the tooltip.

    Ah I think this is an annoying radix artifact because it removed pointer events from everything when displaying popovers IIRC, will see what I can do about it!

      Just to clarify, the issue isn’t about the cursor (it’s only missing in the screenshot). The main point is that the hover color of the Search button is identical whether Search grounding is on or off, so it’s hard to tell the current state without waiting for the tooltip.

      My bad if I my issue sounded like cursor not appearing on the button 😅.

          I must admit that even with the different colors, I still get confused on a regular basis. Probably because this color highlighting is used very often to make the button more visible, not to convey button state.

          From a visibility standpoint, a slider would probably be the best, even though I don’t think it would fit well into theme. But maybe if the icon is modified to show the state as well, it could be easier to tell apart.

          Here my 5 minute photoshop sketch of what the icons could look like.
