Use our own API Keys

Feature Request

I feel like T3 Chat is a great website from design perspective as well as the fact that it is very quick with great features. I would love if Pro users or anyone(if possible) are allowed to use their own API Keys once they hit the limit of chats on their free or pro accounts.

If not for free accounts, I guess we can get it for the pro subscribers.

    Its basically free money for T3 (pro users providing their own key) - and we (the users) get to not be worried about limits.

      Exactly it is a win-win for both of the parties and probably reduces the bill a bit for Theo after the 8$ limit is reached

    +1. Would love to import my Anthropic key so Theo doesn’t have to worry about Claude costs. I am more than okay with spending more money if it means I get to use better models more often. And if I have to pay for pro too, so be it. I see that as the cost of using the interface anyways.

      Yes the website and the snappy UI are worth it and the 1500 message limit is well justified for the 8$ cost, in case I want to exceed that I am ready to pay for it.

    It would be great if you could use a openrouter.ai API key so that I can just have one place to manage my spend.

    I would love this to be honest. I have been using T3 chat for a month and have loved it so far. I was thinking of buying the Pro version but this feature would sell me to it immediately.

    I paid for my own claude credits. It would be really nice to use them in the UI. I prefer this UI over librechat

    the only reason that I don’t use T3 as my main chat app is because a lot of my LLM usage for work is through employer-provided API keys

    this is an absolute essential feature for me

    Not everyone uses these models in the same way. Your current system of 8$ / 100 messages is a disadvantageous deal for people who have short conversations with claude. It’s really bad. Depending on the use case it takes awhile to hit that 0.08$ per message rate. For a conversation I had, I calculated that after 32 messages I was still at 0.053$ / message rate and each message before was obviously even lower. 32 messages !

    Obviously it will depend on your use case how fast you hit that 0.08$ rate.

    I understand you guys took the average and yeah for people that have these long debugging sessions or whatever it’s really fair. But better just let people pay for it themselves?

      I really think Claude is a bit overpriced now looking at the state of other models but yeah I get your point. Adding the feature that allows us to use our API keys helps both the parties.

      I use it by code dumping first and asking it to rewrite part of it (very time efficient but very costly). I try not to overdo it to not slap Theo with a massive bill, but its suboptimal.
