"Stopped by user" message pinned below new messages

Running into an issue where a “Stopped by user” message is getting “pinned” as the latest message. It stays below new messages as I send them, and it’s fairly distracting.

As far as I’ve found the only fix is starting a new thread. Not exactly sure what’s causing it, but I believe it started happening after I manually cancelled a message, and quickly sent another.
