Preference for enabling Search by default

I love the added search grounding, its what won me over to t3.chat from Kagi Assistant.

I keep forgetting to enable search on supported models the first time I open up t3.chat after a while. The search button stays enabled in a given session but resets to off if I close the tab/window or refresh which is unexpected since it will stay enabled for new chats once enabled.

Can it either be made sticky by user/model or have a preference for its default state in each new chat?

    I wanted to request this exact feature. Models do search only when needed anyway and I often burn limit for prompt that is meant to do search without search checked. I’d like it to stick to the last setting and not reset every day. I’m aware of the costs of search but I want models to just search whenever they feel like they need to with option to disable it when I want. Not to constantly check it again and again and burn usage for prompt that is obviously telling model to search while the model cannot do this.

    feels like with the latest rollout this was lost …

    can we have setting again to enable search by Default ?
    in the setting you could write that we will burn tokens more quickly but its so annoying that it is mostly off by default again !!
