Opening the sidebar is so slow...

at first, i didn’t pay much attention to it, the rest of the app was already pretty fast, but after some time i started to notice that no matter when or how, when i press the button to reveal the sidebar, there would always be a solid second or two of the browser just hanging until the sidebar slides open.
