New Tier in Between Pro and Premier
Using only 1 message in Pro, I can already tell it is insuffient for my needs eating up 3% of my 4 hour bucket in 1 message. But $50 a month for Premier is simply beyond my needs. So I propose a medium tier, maybe $15-$20 a month, that has around half of Premier's gains in usage. (Or better yet, a scalable model that lets you choose exactly what you want and pay more or less for what you want by month or as you go.)

If each tier was 2.5x as expensive as previous tier, it would be perfect: $8, $20, $50.
Alternatively, we need a way to top up credits like before.
I might have to move away from T3 chat as a result of this… I can’t shell out $50.

This isn’t about greed — the models themselves are expensive to run, and our limits are tied pretty closely to the actual cost of inference. If you’re hitting the limit after just a couple of messages, it usually means those requests are relatively costly (long threads, large attachments, frequent search, etc.).
If you want full transparency/control over costs, you can also bring your own OpenRouter key and pay per request directly.
We are also actively considering bringing back some form of credit top-ups (or similar flexibility). Right now we’re gathering interest and feedback to make sure whatever we ship actually works well for the widest range of users, rather than adding something that only partially solves the problem.

idk what to tell you, we literally pass through the exact api cost, and technically allow more than $8 worth of usage if you were to max out every session.

Bingo. Search can inject hundreds of thousands of tokens which are not accounted for in the “stats for nerds”

Because they are literally 1:1 plus some additional overhead costs on eg. search api calls.

Ok if search really injects full websites and hundred of thousands of tokens then I agree with you and I am retracting my messages, I would have thought you include the search result tokens in the stats for nerds.

I wanted to create the same thread.
I have two questions related to the higher tier and the price.
1) What is the actual price of the premium model? It is 50$? I assume it is, but in my account setting it seems like it is only 22 (?!) and I am confused therefore if you could clarify here I would not need to send an email (no wasting time and resources)
2) Could you create MIDDLE tier that is a between the lowest one (8$) and the highest one (50$)? I will need to create a bit more materials and the PERFECT solution for me would be the next tier wit 24-25 $ with HALF of the power/resources to use in comparison to the most powerful (and expensive) tier.
Why is that? At that moment I could use ALL my plan (the lowest 8$) within 4-5 days. IF I had 3-5 times more power/resources with the price 25$ or a bit less, I would do everything what I want without paying too much (I cannot afford paying 50$ for a month usage regardless who can provide it).
I fully believe all the costs are ABSOLUTELLY fair and you do not squeeze money from the customers, but provide great quality for decent price. However I need the middle tire (22-25$) to create the stuff I need. I would like to pay you for that kind of service instead of looking for (and paying) anyone else.

it is $50 per month plus applicable taxes. IF you are starting mid-billing cycle, it is currently prorated, but we will be moving to resetting the billing cycle immediately and charging the full $50 instead as it is less confusing. In either case, subsequent bills will be for the full $50 per month, as is indicated during checkout.
We are judging the interest and viability of such a tier, but right now the data points towards the inclusion of a $20 as additional friction with little gain. In most cases the users who would choose that tier really need the $50 tier, and will just be frustrated that they hit a limit and need to upgrade twice. We are also considering the possibility of the option to reset your limits early/top up which would give the option to extend your usage in a more flexible way.

Maybe you are right and then I need to consider buying the 50$ tier for ONE MONTH and do all the necessery work I would like to do in 3 months, step by step. Then I need to prepere everything in advance to fit into 30 days and then change the limit to the basic one (8$).
Let me know if is it possible to buy ANY of the tiers for one month and then change to the other (default - the lowest/cheapest)? If this is the case I can consider this option and instead of paying 3 months for 20$ elsewhere (other services) I can buy one month the premium 50$ tier with 10x more power to use and do the task in 30 days.
Please confirm if such idea is possible - thank you in advance for taking your time!

You can upgrade and downgrade your subscription as you see fit. Upgrades are immediate, downgrades apply at the end of the current billing period.

Hi everyone,
I am on the 8$ Tier and am also struggling, mainly I think because of Image Gen, I really like to play around with it, but as soon as I generate 3 Images (of course depending on the model, and size and so on) it tops out at the 20 Base messages and goes way over what I wanted for my Monthly limit. I tried it today with 100% of both and generating 3-4 Images, and now I am at 84% or so of my Monthly limit, thats just a bit frustrating. And 50$ is just to much for me right now, but 20$ or even a “refresh your monthly limit for 5$” or 8$ whatever, would be nice to have, exactly for those Months/moments, because I rarely use imageGen, I just tried it out, because I joined t3.chat today.

Or another thought, what about paying 10$ extra or so (as an extra upgrade, not connected to a specific plan) to double or triple the base points, so instead of 20 I have 60 that get refreshed every 4h, but pay 10 or 15$ extra. Like an add-on or something. I am sure you maybe thought of this already, but I am curious why its maybe not a good idea or why its not implemented yet :)
