New Thread infinitely loading

I scrolled down the sidebar and saw multiple `New Thread`s that have a loading spinner and I am able to click the stop button. These are threads from weeks/months ago, so wanted to know if this is actually just running some process in the background (urgent) or if it’s just a stuck but static state value (less urgent).
