Most buttons not working after sending message until page refresh.

Bug Reports

After I send a message, most of the buttons stop working. This includes:

  • copy message

  • edit message

  • settings

  • theme

  • retry

  • branch off

  • hide side panel (top left)

  • model selection

  • reasoning selection

  • send message (the button stops working but hitting enter works)

  • account

  • pin thread

  • delete thread

New chat and switching chats still works. If I refresh the page with F5, the buttons work again until I send a new message.

    This seems to happen more often with reasoning models. Grok 4 doesn’t provide a reasoning output, and I find it to happen pretty much consistently with that model.

    There is no error in the console when this happens, not even if it eventually “unfreezes”.

    If I don’t wait for long enough and refresh, it appears to be in the progress state indefinitely.

    Also happening to me, running Chromium 141.0.7390.76 (Official Build) Arch Linux (64-bit) also only have uBlock Origin running, disabled it but can still reproduce it, basically as soon as I send off a prompt most buttons stop responding (Login, clicking on the User badge, clicking on the search or attachment buttons, strangely enough the LLM selector works just as before, I can also send messages to the LLM and get a response). The sidebar also mainly works (switching between chats, making a new chat, however the buttons for pinning/deleting a chat or collapsing the sidebar doesn’t work).

    Also experiencing this on Windows 11, Zen Browser Twilight (latest).
    uBlock Origin is the only extension installed.

    Everything can be interacted with once a given generation is complete. And the interactions are queued somehow:
    Generation start → click User card → everything frozen → generation finished → I am now in customization settings.

    Yes, as mentioned before i also cannot use some buttons after my prompt has been sent. As far as i could tell only the new chat button worked. Only after refreshing does it work again. I did not test in firefox only in chrome.

    Same here, may be relevant, I am getting access through vpn (right now for free, but plan on reinstating my subscription once I run out of premium tokens)

    When this is happening do you seen any errors in the browser console?

      I tested chrome with --disable-extensions and I’m still having the issue.
