Inconsistent spaces in the text font

I hadn’t noticed this earlier so I believe this is a recent issue.

Some of the spaces, apparently only around bold text, get shrunk and are tiny, making the text hard to read.

For example, the “chili con carne” at the top is actually three owrds, not one. The “3 portions” at the bottom is also separated but the spaces are minuscule.

However, at the bottom right, the “kcal per […]” actually looks correct.

If you select the space you can see how different they look in size.

This is on a 1440p monitor, fullscreen. I’m using Chrome 141.0.7390.65 for Windows and I have tried disabling all my plugins just in case. I have not changed my settings and I’d swear this used to look good.

This could be a character issue with GPT5 though (The model I’m using for that conversation).

Using a character analyser, I see this when selecting the space, along with the previous and next letters, of the third image (“n c”)

• U+006E LATIN SMALL LETTER N character

• U+00E2 LATIN SMALL LETTER A WITH CIRCUMFLEX character (â)

• U+0080 <control> character (�)

• U+00AF MACRON character (¯)

• U+0063 LATIN SMALL LETTER C character

However, if I do the same with the first image (“l p”), I see this instead:

• U+006C LATIN SMALL LETTER L character

• U+0020 SPACE character

• U+0070 LATIN SMALL LETTER P character

I don’t know much about characters but I’d say the first one I analyzed is fucked up.
