I often initiate conversations on ChatGPT (e.g., on mobile or using its transcription feature) and want to seamlessly continue these conversations within T3Chat. While it's possible to export all my ChatGPT data and manually extract the relevant conversation for import into T3Chat, this process is cumbersome, especially given the potentially large size of ChatGPT data exports. Proposed Solution: Implement a feature that allows me to import a ChatGPT conversation directly into T3Chat using ChatGPT's public chat sharing URL. The feature would:
Allow me to input a valid ChatGPT shared chat URL.
Make a request to the provided URL.
Extract the chat content from the HTML response. (I tested right now, and it seems that the chat content is directly accessible in the HTML source without requiring CAPTCHA resolution or similar measures.)
Create a new T3Chat conversation populated with the extracted chat history.
Now, I know this might not be as straightforward as it sounds. I'm not sure about the legal side of things, like, is it okay to scrape ChatGPT's website even if I made the chat public? Probably worth looking into. Also, ChatGPT could throw a wrench in the works by adding CAPTCHAs or something similar to their shared chat pages, which would make it impossible to automatically grab the content. And, of course, they might change the way the chat is structured in the HTML, which would mean someone would have to keep an eye on it and update the import feature as needed.
But overall, I think this is worth considering.
