Image gen fails after adding a reference

If you download a img from canvas and use it as a reference. No matter what model you choose, it will show “Failed to start Generation”.

Error message doesnt give a specfic reason why it fails so theres nothing i can really do to specify the cause of this.

    I cannot seem to reproduce this, are you able to share the URL of a generation which encountered this issue? Can you confirm the dimensions of the reference image you are trying to use?

      It happens at random. My initial problem seemed to be incorrect. It just happens at random. Gpt image 2 was working but failed from a decoding error.

      Then I switch to Nano banana 2 and now its doing the Failed to start generation again. It would be helpful if the error messages were more clear than a vague. It failed. I can't really say what went wrong because the error mags are so vague.

        We try to provide as much detail as we can, but many of the errors from the upstream model providers are also opaque. IF you can share an example URL from a failed request I can check the backend logs to see if there is any addtional details there.
