If MathJax doesn't render properly in certain situations, handle it a little bit better.
This was going to be a bug report until I tried a few more times.
Sometimes (almost always) inside Markdown lists, and sometimes inside parentheses, MathJax LaTeX doesn't even "try" to render (the renderer may not be picking it up).
I think now (only now do I think this) that it IS malformed model output (I've been using purely Gemini models (all levels scattered) for a bit now), so I'm thinking it IS malformed output.
It would be nice if we could Regex these unrendered, malformed LaTeX snippets and remove the leading and trailing "$" for better readability (maybe also change the color slightly after).

The example shown is using the wrong delimniters. We do ecerything we can to get the models to use the correct ones, but sometimes they don’t listen.
You can try adding custom instructions in settings to remind it to use \( … \) for inline LaTeX, which may help. The reason we don’t add more in the main instructions is because it is more likely to cause other problems for most users who do not use LaTeX

Thank you for your reply. I will be sure to do this, but what I was suggesting was that you find any cases of broken LaTeX with the $ signs and remove them, so that at least it won't be very cluttered with the $ signs, though I do understand that it might be hard to find them because there are other normal cases of $ signs
