Hover / long press not functioning on existing messages

Model iPad mini 6

Version: iPadOS 18.6.2

I can no longer access any of the expected functionality hidden under “hover”. In other words I cannot access the “copy”, “regenerate”, “branch”, etc functionality at all.

On the iPad, it used to function when long-pressing or double-tapping. It currently does not function.
