Gemini 3 Pro Improper LaTeX formatting

It seems like gemini 3 pro uses a different way of formatting tex characters that’s not supported in the UI.
For example, with gemini 3 Pro I get this:


Instead of getting this with 2.5 pro:

Not sure if it’s going to be fixed from google’s side but it makes it way less readable.

    Part of the Latex is rendered while others are not. Gemini 2.5 Flash

      Single dollar signs are not treated as valid by our renderer, we tell the models about this, but they do not always listen. We are looking into ways to improve this

        thanks for the response. Yes, it would be better for models to deal with it rather than creating a separate rendering solution from your end which would depend on the model’s response anyway. All the best.

    You can ask the model to use correct LaTeX formatting and it will likely fix it, will see if there is a tweak we can make to the system prompt to make it listen better.

      might be more robust solution to add ad-hoc settings for the particular model? So the way of viewing such charaters will align with one on google own ui side.

      It would be great if T3 could render the single dollar sign format for inline math. This is pretty widely used, not just by Gemini 3.0.
