Folders for Chats

Please implement folders and tags so that you can sort and find your chats properly. Projects would also be useful.

    This is really important IMO.

I was about to post this, just subscribed to T3. Liking things for far but folders are super important.

YES. I would love organization options, like building tree structures with chats.

Tagging would be ridiculously useful. AI could even auto-generate tags.
A Tag Cloud/Graph would be very interesting to see too.

If there was folders I would leave ChatGPT but organizing my chats is so important to me.

I’d very much like to separate my work chats, personal chats, research chats and temporary ‘whatever’ chats. Folders would be so cool for this.

I imagine also that folders could behave as workspaces with their own notes/context for chats within 👀

would love to have folders/projects, and especially per folder “system-context” e.g. Work related stuff i could say which tech we already use, or for my selfhosted home stuff, what server software i’m using, and personal chats as well as a short “i’m-too-lazy-to-google-my-self-tell-me”-chat don’t need that info

Project Folders and tags would be very useful.

Team Folder would be next on the list.

Open AI’s GPT implemented project folders but chats in folders can’t be shared … which is painful. I asked why and they claimed that some enterprise customer wanted to prevent sharing. Didn’t make any sense to me. If you wanted that then you’d support Team folders with sharing permissions.

You’d also like to be able to share a folder via a link (read-only).

This would be super useful, sometimes difficult to find chats made a while ago. Being able to organize chats into a folder or areas would improve quality of life ngl.

Absolutely. This is what I came here to request. I was surprised when I realized this functionality wasn’t already present.
