Enable BYO API key for GPT-5 and GPT-5 Reasoning

Please add “Bring Your Own API key” support for GPT-5 and GPT-5 Reasoning in t3.chat, just like it’s already enabled for OpenAI o3 and o3‑pro. We need this immediately so we can keep working and testing these models without being blocked by monthly credit limits. Thank you.

    Until yesterday, I’ve been regularly using GPT-5 in t3.chat, but now it gives the “your org is not verified” error. The icon says to BYO key but it’s not in the expanded selector. I don’t know what happened and I can’t find any info on what actually changed, but whatever case, I’m in this camp now too.

      We added BYOK for GPT5. Previously it was just using credits. You will need to change your settings to use API key as fallback, and verify your org with OpenAI, or remove the key.

        Thank you. I forgot I put in an (unverified) OpenAI API key, and the settings defaulted to making the key take priority.
