Dynamic "lite" search for fact checking

The current web search is too eager to leave enabled all the time. And it seems to be more focussed on “deep research” type workflows.

However, in order to reduce halucination in general conversation for trivia, it would be nice if the model can decide to do a quick search to verify something. It would be nice if this can be fast and used conservatively such that it can be left on for general conversations.

Use-cases would include trivia (birthdays, events, facts) and also recent events (who won the 1000m female speed skating in Olympics 2026)
