Chat too long error on first message

Feature Request

I am getting an error message saying my chat is too long, even though I am starting a new chat every time. This error is on trying to send the very first message in this chat, there are no previous messages. How can I fix this?

    Can you share the prompt you are encountering this with?

      It’s doing it for nearly every chat with Claude Opus. Here’s an example of most of what I’m doing, with 3-4 photos attached to the prompt:

      Write a Poshmark & Depop listing for this: AYR The Getup in Film Noir size 25S, excellent condition- the black wash has faded a bit from the original but it is meant to be a “washed black”, 29.5” inseam, barrel leg / bowed leg, $265 retail

        Hm ok, Looking into it. It is possible that the images are being incorrectly estimated. For now I would recommend using models other than Opus which has one of the most limited context windows due to its very high cost.

        The estimate issue would only affect the initial sending of the messages, and the balance would be corrected once the response completes, so there should be no concern of incorrect consumption of limits.

          Made some tweaks to hopefully address this as well on opus. Feel free to reopen if you are still encountering issues.
