branching off with certain number of previous prompts

Currently, I can take a prompt and branch it off, taking all previous prompts in that chat to a new chat. It would be a good feature If we can limit the number of previous prompts we can take to the new chat. Especially for claude, as it reaches token limit fast. This is essentially a cut off from 1 prompt point to another or end.
