Branch off chat without all previous messages (reverse branch off)

Feature Request

Currently it is only possible to branch off chat by copying all the messages before selected in a new one. It is not very useful in long threads when you are starting to hit context window limits.

It would be really nice to branch off “reversing” the direction of copied messages, so to speak. This way we can have fresh thread with a copy of messages from selected one onward, not backwards.

This would allow to copy all relevant context and continue chat approaching length limit

    I would find this useful too! Sometimes I would ask a thread to summarise itself so far, then take the summary into a new thread to continue the conversation. Sort of like a pseudo-compact.

    +1 I’m finding myself more and more wanting to branch off from a given point going forward as previous context is unnecessary or can be provided as a quick summary. This would allow us to manage our context better
