With the faster models, autoscrolling is useless because you cannot read the output as fast as it is generated, so you would have to wait for it to be generated first. Instead we scroll your message to the top, and let the response "fall off" the screen for you to scroll at your own pace. "Scroll to bottom" is just a quick shortcut to return to the bottom if you have scrolled up.
