Ask question without snap to the bottom

Im reading chat and I want to ask a question, but keep on reading the chat. If i ask the question, I get snapped to the bottom and I need to scroll back.

Would be nice to have something that allows me to return to my last read position in the chat. Also would be nice to set it manually so that I can move back whenever I want without scrolling. Scroll on long chat is annoying.
