Allow Multiple Searches

Feature Request

I wish models could search the web multiple times, especially as they their agentic abilities improve. I find I’m moving away from t3 for quick research because models like Kimi K2 Thinking and O3 can reason then search then reason then search and their answers are a lot better than what I get from the same models on t3. Some control or slider of how many searches allowed per prompt would be cool to limit how many credits a single prompt uses.

    This is the main reason I use other chat apps, and adding it would drive much more of my daily usage to T3 Chat.

    I’d honestly be fine with some sort of “Search Effort” where currently one web search is an extra usage token, perhaps there is a high search effort mode which requires an extra 2 or 3 tokens but can do another 2 or 3 web searches

      I like this direction, perhaps allowing you to set an allowed “budget” of sorts could work

    an idea of how you can do this is allow powerusers to specify an override of how many searches on max can a model make in its next reply, even if it cosumes one premium credit per search or something like that.

    a more complicated solution that would cause less overhead from the user’s side is to let models do as many searches as they want, but right as they try to call the search tool, prompt the user to confirm allowing the search (this would prompt only from the second search in a message and onwards) at the cost of consuming extra premium credits, if the user confirms the tool call completes transparently, if the user refuses you can reinject a prompt to the model that the user refused extra searches for this message, and if the model is smart enough it will know to not call search again for the remainder of the message or something like that…

    Enhanced Web Search Capabilities

    Expanded Search, Multiple searches, byo exa key, and fine-tune parameters.

    I really feel like models perform better with more searches, and a BYO feature, or just plain more credit cost for more searches, would be amazing
